ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management This UMD Professional course provides a practice management qualification designed for nurses and receptionists taking on supervisory roles. The Level 3 Certificate focuses on practical day to day management and provides a framework for training in planning, communications, customer care, finance and people management. Assessment is continuous and carried out through practical practice based assignments. The Certificate course is available as a distance learning course lasting approximately one year. ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management This UMD Professional course provides a nationally recognised qualification in management for dental practice managers and has been attended by over 600 managers across the UK. The programme is designed to give practising and potential dental practice managers a sound foundation for their development. It represents a highly practical way to gain a respected management qualification which will enhance your career and bring tangible benefits to the practice in which you work. The programme is available either as a workshop based course or through distance learning. The workshop programme comprises ten monthly workshops and focuses on the practical application of management knowledge and skills. The workshops use case studies, group exercises and discussion as part of the learning method. Participants will be part of a study group with their own experienced tutor who will also be available for advice and support between workshops. The programme includes practical reference manuals, videos and guided learning documentation. The distance learning programme includes guided learning materials and videos which are made available online. In addition, learners have the support of a designated tutor to guide them through their studies. For both the workshop and distance learning options, assessment towards the qualification is ongoing based on a range of practical tasks and written assignments which are spread over the period of the programme. The Dental Business Management Programme leading to ILM Level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Management This UMD Professional course is intended for those working at a senior level within dental practice either as a practice manager or as a Principal or partner. The programme leads to ILM Level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Management and successful completion of the programme entitles delegates to membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management and the use of the letters MInstLM (subject to entry requirements). *** The course provides management credits towards the Faculty's FGDP (UK) Career Pathway and up to 84 hours of verifiable CPD.*** The programme comprises six workshops held quarterly over an eighteen month period, with monthly webinars, guided learning and work-based assignments. There is no exam - assessment is ongoing based on a range of practical tasks and written assignments which are spread over the period of the programme and carried out by participants between each workshop.
